How to install a recessed sink into the countertop – step by step

1. Measure and mark the mounting location

  • Go back approx. 1.5 cm from the outline inwards – a cutting line will be created (the bowl must rest on the edge of the countertop).
  • Check that the siphon will fit underneath and that the countertop does not have any elements that interfere with the assembly.

2. Cut a hole in the countertop

  • Drill a hole on the inner outline line to insert the jigsaw blade.
  • With the jigsaw, cut a hole according to the marked line.
  • Clean the edges of dust and smooth them with sandpaper.
  • If the countertop is laminated, damp-proof the edges (e.g. silicone or a special impregnant).

3. Install the stopper and siphon

  • Install the click-cNULL stopper according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Connect the siphon – do not tighten it all the way yet (you will do this after seating the sink).

4. Place the sink in the countertop

  • Apply a thin layer of sanitary silicone to the inside edge of the countertop.
  • Slowly slide the sink into the hole and press it evenly.
  • Remove excess silicone with a damp cloth or a finger dampened with dish soap.
  • Use a spirit level to check leveling.

5. Connect the drain

  • Tighten the siphon from underneath.
  • Make sure all connections are tight.
  • Wait at least 12–24 hours for the silicone to set (drying time depending on the manufacturer).

6. Practical Tips

  • Make sure the countertop is waterproof or protected, as water can damage the wood or laminate over time.
  • If the countertop is made of stone – it is best to make a cutout with a carpenter or stonemason.
